Daum PotPlayer 1.5.37916 Portable *Updated 32-Bit versions 23.05.2013 These portable versions are compressed, for better performance on USB drive. They will of course work on any harddrive too. Portable means they do not need to be installed to function, just click and go. If you donīt like the program, just delete the folder and move on with your life. Your system is not altered in any way.
Before downloading, uncheck the "Use our download manager and get recommended downloads"-option.
It will look like that only on Vista and 7 with aero enabled. Also on 8, if you use one of the 900 extra programs needed to transform that abomination to almost half-tolerable.
The default version includes a simple default skin, mod by me. Added/removed features, cleaned up the interface and tooltips. Simple and functional..and in English. Since 1.5.34179 PotPlayer includes a new default skin with a thousand scary buttons, one of the BlackBox skins. I chose not to use it here, because it looks like my Pioneer car stereo I had in 1852.
To get rid of the buttugly portableappzblaablaaa splash screen at startup, open PotPlayerPortable.ini with notepad and change: DisableSplashScreen=false to: DisableSplashScreen=true Launcher by Bernat@PortableAppz
Install versions here: [link] It seems most issues people have are related to the 64-bit version, since 64-Bit doesnīt get any beta updates I would recommend using the 32-Bit version. Look for updates on the link I posted, never ever update via the built-in update feature, it will make PotPlayer Korean.
The skin in the preview picture is called Q-Zune 1_En. Itīs included in my skin pack, along with umpteen (375) other skins: [link] *Updated 04.03.2013 Many skins use Direct3D 9 for the nice overlay on screen effect, this does NOT work on Windows XP.
More file type icons here: [link] Includes 24 versions *Updated 10.11.2012, added these six: [link] If you prefer thumbnails, use this excellent freeware program called Media Preview: [link]
Logos, icons and info on HD playback here: [link] *Updated 10.11.2012 If you want to use .swf logos, install Adobe Flash. Also the one for Internet Explorer. Careful or Google Chrome and McAfee will get you.
Remember to update DirectX in your system: [link] You should do it anyway, not just because PotPlayer wants you to. Careful while installing, or Bing Bar will get you.
So there you have it, a complete infoBLAST on PotPlayer, the best mediaplayer for Windows. This is not open for debate.
When I drag & drop a videofile in the PotPlayer window, it plays that videofile. When I drag & drop a videofile on the PotPlayerPortable icon, it plays that videofile. If I make a shortcut from the PotPlayerPortable.exe and place it anywhere, and drag & drop a videofile on the shortcut, it plays that videofile. I have no idea what you are dragging, or where you are dropping what you have been dragging. I do however have PotPlayer installed, that should not be a factor. Iīm not uninstalling it to find out.
Cool! Cool! Cool! The new version didn't crashed even after 2 and a half hours... I can watch a movie without need to restart the app... and now I will made a backup before update.
Hello, that is pretty complete skin, though if you would like to bring it to the true perfection, consider the following: 1. when potplayer is snapped to a corner with collapsed playlist and you start playback, then if you click on showPlaylist the SIZE of the player with change causing video-size to change as well. 2. there're mouse gestures for different areas of potplayer. If you double-click on the center of potplayer it should PLAY/PAUSE. If you double-click on the overlay/top it will maximize/minimize. So, overlay with SHOW-PLAYLIST button is "enormously" huge, causing unwanted MAXIMIZE effects. Please advice how to change that if you have no plans to work further on it. 3. Please add a description to PLAY button, that on right-click it works as CLOSE FILE (which is obvious and very nice).
Continue with the great job... thanks so much.
